Watchmaker's bench in Pattaya workshop
Our Story

A Workshop Built on
Steady Hands

Pendulus began as a single bench in Pattaya and has grown through word of mouth — owners who found something here that felt different from a chain or a counter.

Who We Are

Pendulus — Pattaya's Watch Workshop

The name Pendulus comes from the Latin for "hanging" — the steady, measured swing of a pendulum that keeps everything else in rhythm. It is a word that describes how we approach each job: one careful beat at a time, without rushing the process.

The workshop opened on Beach Road in the early 2010s, founded by a watchmaker who spent years learning the craft in both Thailand and Europe before returning to Chonburi. The intention from the start was modest: offer thorough, honest watch care in a city where tourists and long-term residents alike trusted their timepieces to whoever was nearest, with varying results.

Today Pendulus handles everything from a straightforward quartz battery and reseal to the kind of full heritage overhaul that takes weeks and deserves every one of them. The team is small — intentionally so — because quality and communication are easier to hold when the workshop is not overstretched.

Our Mission

Calm, Clear, Craftsman-Led

Many watches come in with a simple problem and leave carrying doubt — was it done properly? Was anything cut short? At Pendulus, we try to answer those questions before they form. Every service ends with a written condition note so the owner can see what was found, what was done, and in what state their watch left us.

We do not add work without asking, we do not rush vintage pieces through the same process as everyday quartz, and we do not pretend that every watch can be returned to factory-new condition. What we can offer is careful, documented, honest work — which turns out to be what most watch owners are really looking for.

Our Standards

How We Work

The following principles shape how every watch is handled, regardless of its age, brand, or service tier.

Condition Assessment First

Before any work starts, the watch is assessed and the findings shared with the owner. Nothing proceeds without clear agreement on scope.

Grade-Appropriate Lubricants

We use lubricants chosen for each movement type — not a single generic oil applied everywhere. This matters most for vintage calibres with narrow tolerances.

Timing Measurement

Mechanical movements are timed across multiple positions using a timing machine. Before-and-after readings are recorded and shared with the owner.

Pressure Testing

Where the case design allows, water-resistance is tested after resealing. The result forms part of the condition note so the owner can see what was confirmed, not assumed.

Written Service Records

Every watch leaves with a plain-language document describing its condition on arrival, the work completed, and any observations worth keeping in mind for future care.

Owner Consent at Every Step

If extra work is needed beyond the original scope — whether a worn part or an unexpected finding — we stop and contact the owner before continuing.

Watch Repair in Pattaya — What to Expect from Pendulus

Watch repair in Pattaya ranges widely in quality — from mall kiosks replacing batteries quickly to specialist workshops able to strip and rebuild a movement from scratch. Pendulus occupies the quieter end of that spectrum: a small team, a proper workbench, and the willingness to take time with a piece that deserves it.

Quartz owners typically come to us when their watch needs more than a battery — perhaps the seals have aged, the case feels less reliable in water, or they simply want reassurance that things are still working as they should. A Quartz Refresh covers the battery, the gaskets, a pressure check where applicable, and a light clean. It is a practical service carried out to a consistent standard.

For mechanical watch owners, the picture is more involved. A movement that has been running for years without service builds up dried lubricant, wear in pivots, and timing drift that no adjustment will correct without opening the movement. Our Movement Service addresses this through full disassembly, cleaning in an ultrasonic bath, fresh lubrication, and regulated timing across resting positions. Owners receive the before-and-after rate numbers so progress is visible.

Heritage and vintage pieces — watches with sentimental or collector value — receive the most careful treatment at Pendulus. A Full Heritage Overhaul covers movement renewal, case work, and resealing, with each stage documented in writing. We source parts where needed and communicate throughout, because these are not watches that owners want handled at speed.

Located at 21 Beach Road in Nong Prue, Pendulus is easy to reach from central Pattaya and accessible to both residents and visitors staying along the coast. We welcome drop-ins during workshop hours, though a brief message or phone call ahead of a visit helps ensure the right person is available to discuss your watch.
